Yes — all Makana Surf Co. pontoon rentals include a full tank of fuel at no additional charge.

Yes. A $1,000 security deposit authorization hold will be placed on the renter’s credit card prior to departure. If the pontoon is returned without new damage, the hold will be released after the post-rental inspection is completed.

No. Only the designated renter/operator listed on the rental agreement may operate the pontoon unless otherwise approved by Makana Surf Co.

Yes. All adult passengers must complete a digital liability waiver before boarding. A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of any minor participants.

No pets are allowed onboard unless otherwise approved by Makana Surf Co.

No. Towing, tubing, wakesurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, or pulling riders of any kind is strictly prohibited at all times.

Safety is our top priority. Weather and lake conditions can change quickly. Makana Surf Co. reserves the right to delay, shorten, reschedule, or cancel rentals due to unsafe weather or lake conditions.

We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before your scheduled rental time to allow time for parking, check-in, waiver verification, and the required safety orientation.

We understand delays can happen and will do our best to accommodate when possible. However, if another reservation is scheduled after your rental, lost time due to late arrival cannot be extended beyond your reserved rental period.

The primary renter is financially responsible for any damage occurring during the rental period, including propeller damage, docking damage, excessive cleaning, lost equipment, towing costs, or policy violations.

No. Beaching the pontoon is strictly prohibited and may result in significant damage charges.

Makana Surf Co. operates throughout Minnesota. Launch locations and availability may vary depending on scheduling and lake access.
